The BetterSax Classic mouthpiece is available for alto, tenor and baritone saxophone and is especially designed to get beginner players off to the best possible start at an affordable price. Having the right beginner setup is vital for setting students up for success.

A poor quality stock mouthpiece can actually make it nearly impossible for a student to produce a decent sound, which can result in just giving up the saxophone before even getting started.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students deserve better when starting out, so we wanted to design a mouthpiece that would help beginning players develop their sound and embouchure. A mouthpiece that is easy to play and get a good sound on. For this to happen it has to be made with precision, especially at the tip, rails, facing and table.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s why these are made using aerospace and defense department grade injection molding using the same type of plastic you find in surgical equipment and then hand finished by experts at the JJ Babbitt factory in Elkhart, IN. That\u2019s the same place that legendary Meyer and Otto Link mouthpieces are made.<\/span><\/p>\n

Works Well in a Range of Musical Settings<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I love how these mouthpieces sound and respond across the whole range of the saxophone. I can play a wide dynamic range from pp to ff on this and it\u2019s easy to play in tune. Students should be playing on a mouthpiece that is reed friendly and consistent so that everybody in the section is working on a level playing field.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are also versatile. In band programs it\u2019s important to have a clear homogeneous sound to blend with the ensemble, but students sometimes also need a bit more projection for jazz band or marching band. The BetterSax Classic does all of that.<\/span><\/p>\n
